From the first feasibility check to post-commissioning verification, we provide the technical coordination that community organisations need to install solar confidently and correctly.
A feasibility assessment establishes whether solar PV is a viable and worthwhile investment for your specific building. Not every building is equally suited — roof orientation, pitch, structural condition, shading and electricity consumption patterns all influence the outcome.
Our assessment combines a physical site visit with analysis of your electricity bills and consumption data. We evaluate south-facing roof area available for panels, assess any shading from trees or adjacent structures, review the structural loading capacity of the roof, and examine your grid connection arrangements.
The result is a written report presenting our findings, indicative system sizing, estimated annual generation, and a preliminary cost range. This document is designed to be understandable by committee members without technical backgrounds — clear, structured and actionable.
The feasibility report is suitable for presentation to your committee, your board, potential funders or your local authority.
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) administers grant funding for community renewable energy projects. Accessing these grants requires careful preparation of documentation, adherence to application procedures and ongoing compliance with scheme requirements.
We identify the most appropriate grant pathway for your organisation, prepare all required application documentation, and manage the submission process. Where SEAI raises queries or requests additional information, we respond on your behalf and keep your committee informed of progress.
Grant applications can be technically detailed and time-consuming. Having an experienced coordinator manage this process reduces the risk of errors or omissions that could delay or jeopardise a grant offer.
Grant schemes and their requirements change periodically. We stay current with SEAI programme updates to ensure applications reflect current requirements.
Irish planning regulations provide exemptions for solar panel installation in many circumstances, but community buildings — particularly those with protected structure status or in architectural conservation areas — may require a formal planning application.
We assess your building's planning status and advise clearly on whether an application is required. Where it is, we coordinate the preparation of application documents, engage with your local authority's planning department and manage the process through to a decision.
Understanding the planning position early in the project prevents costly delays later. Our guidance ensures your project proceeds on the correct legal footing from the outset.
Planning requirements vary by building type and location. We assess each project individually and do not apply a one-size-fits-all approach.
Selecting the right installer is critical to a successful project. The solar market includes installers of varying quality, and comparing quotes without technical knowledge is difficult — specifications differ, warranties vary and the cheapest quote is not always the best value.
We prepare a detailed technical specification for your project and approach a panel of vetted installers. We evaluate responses on a consistent, like-for-like basis — assessing panel quality, inverter specifications, mounting system, grid connection approach, warranty terms and commissioning procedures. We present your committee with a clear evaluation report and a reasoned recommendation.
We do not receive commission from installers. Our panel is maintained based on quality and reliability, not commercial arrangements.
During installation, we provide technical oversight to ensure the work proceeds in accordance with the agreed specification. We attend key milestones — including initial setup, panel installation and electrical connection — and review work quality against the agreed scope.
Where issues arise, we address them directly with the installer, protecting your committee from the difficult position of managing technical disputes without the relevant knowledge. We provide regular progress updates so your committee remains informed without needing to be present on site.
Our oversight role means your committee has a technical advocate throughout the installation — someone who can identify problems before they become expensive to fix.
After your system is commissioned, we verify that it is performing as projected. This involves reviewing generation output data, confirming the monitoring system is functioning correctly, and checking that grid export arrangements are operating as agreed with your network operator.
We produce a final handover report documenting the installed system, its performance in the period following commissioning, and key operational information your committee needs for ongoing management. This report also supports grant compliance reporting requirements where applicable.
The handover report provides your committee with a clear record of the system for future reference, maintenance planning and any future grant reporting obligations.
Many organisations come to us at different stages of their solar journey. Some have already explored feasibility; others are starting from scratch. We'll discuss your current position and identify the most appropriate starting point.
