We act as a data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of providing our services.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Contact information: Name, email address, telephone number and postal address where provided through our contact form or in correspondence.
  • Organisation information: The name and nature of your community organisation, where provided.
  • Enquiry content: The content of messages you send us through our contact form or by email.
  • Website usage data: Technical information about your visit to our website, including IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy for details).

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Acts 1988–2018:

  • Consent: Where you have provided explicit consent, such as when submitting our contact form and agreeing to our privacy policy, or when accepting non-essential cookies.
  • Legitimate interests: Where processing is necessary for our legitimate business interests, including responding to enquiries and improving our website, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Contract: Where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Legal obligation: Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation applicable to us.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:

  • To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form or by email or telephone.
  • To provide our consultancy services to clients who engage us.
  • To maintain records of our business communications.
  • To improve the content and functionality of our website.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our website or delivering our services, such as hosting providers or email services. These providers are bound by data processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your data where required to do so by law, court order or in response to a request from a competent authority.
  • Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to equivalent data protection commitments.

6. International Transfers

Where we transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, to protect your data to an equivalent standard.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Enquiry data from contact forms is retained for a period of three years from the date of last contact unless an ongoing client relationship is established, in which case data is retained for the duration of that relationship and for seven years thereafter for legal and accounting purposes.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR and Irish data protection law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct inaccurate personal data about you.
  • Right to erasure: You have the right to request that we delete your personal data in certain circumstances.

  • Right to object: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within one month.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (DPC), the supervisory authority for data protection in Ireland. The DPC can be contacted at www.dataprotection.ie.
